I love to cook, I love good food, and I love to try new recipes. But the challenge with my love affair with cooking was presented when I moved in with my then boyfriend and his three boys. It was challenging enough jumping head first into an instant family, but to jump into an instant family with as he called himself "a microwave chef" and kids who turned up their nose at my chili, commented that Taco Bell was better than my enchiladas, and stared down vegetables preferring fast food was pretty harsh.
I am happy to say though that after three years of
tricking convincing and a little prodding all three boys now eat their vegetables and take on the challenge of trying new foods. The new challenge isn't trying to find recipes the boys will eat, but finding ways to incorporate more fresh veggies in a new way. I don't think that they get tired of the same old recipes but I sure do.
And I my baby girl just turned 1 year old at the beginning of October and I've been trying to find toddler-friendly ways to
turn her into a vegetable loving fiend introduce her to a love affair with vegetables and tasty foods also.
My name is Crystal, I go by Mama Crys, and I hope to learn what I can from all of you and perhaps introduce you to some tasty recipes that you (and your family) will love as much as mine does.
Saw your comment over at Affair from the Heart, food blogging is so fun with kids, get them involved and they will eat it all!
